— Rogue Entity Alert
Classification: Rogue Entity
Threat Level: Gentle
Known Habitat: Kitchen drawers, old photographs, worn tools, children’s rooms, and the objects nobody else understands why you kept.
FIELD REPORT
The Keeper collects things.
Not valuable things.
Important things.
A note written in terrible handwriting.
A chipped mug.
A jacket that hasn’t fit in fifteen years.
A child’s drawing.
A key that opens nothing anymore.
The Keeper does not understand the word worthless.
ENCOUNTER LOG
He was cleaning out the closet when he found the box.
He almost threw it away.
It was ugly.
Cardboard gone soft at the corners. Tape yellowed with age. Somebody had written his name on the top in fading marker.
Inside were things he hadn’t seen in years.
A photograph.
An old birthday card.
A little plastic toy with one wheel missing.
He picked up the toy.
And immediately remembered the sound of little feet running across the hallway.
He sat down on the floor.
For a while, he didn’t move.
Then he laughed.
“Look at you.”
He wasn’t talking to the toy.
Not really.
He put it back in the box.
But this time, he didn’t close the lid.
FIELD NOTE
The Keeper is sometimes accused of living in the past.
This is unfair.
The Keeper knows the past is gone.
That’s precisely why it keeps little pieces of it.
Not to live there.
To remember who lived there.
ENCOUNTER WARNING
There will come a time when someone asks:
“Why do you still have this?”
You may not have a good answer.
That’s okay.
Not everything you keep needs a practical justification.
Some things are worth keeping because they once belonged to a moment that mattered.
A person.
A place.
A version of yourself.
A life you survived.
A life you loved.
The object may be insignificant.
The memory is not.
ENTITY STATUS
THE KEEPER — STILL HERE.
Keep what matters.
Let the rest go.
And don’t let anyone convince you that love requires a receipt.
