Spell Name: Compassion
School: Guardian Magic
Element: Gentle Strength
Effect: The ability to make another creature’s path safer without abandoning your own.

Deep in the forest walks the elephant.

A creature of immense power.

The elephant does not need to prove its strength. The forest already knows.

A single step can shake the ground.
A single push can move what others cannot.

But the elephant carries a secret spell.

Not the spell of breaking obstacles.

The spell of making room.

The elephant sees another traveler struggling along the path and pauses.

The world says:

“Move forward. Take what is yours. You are strong enough.”

But the elephant knows something deeper.

Strength is not only the ability to move through the world.

Strength is the ability to soften the world for someone else.

So the elephant offers the ancient spell:

“You first. Then me.”

This is Compassion.

Not weakness.

Not surrender.

Not forgetting yourself.

The young adventurer thinks compassion means giving away pieces of themselves until nothing remains.

The guardian learns the higher form:

A lantern does not become weaker because it shares its flame.

A river does not become poorer because it gives water.

A tree does not become smaller because it offers shade.

The gift is part of the nature of the thing.

But even the elephant must remember:

A wounded guardian cannot guard.

The spell requires balance.

“You first” does not mean “never me.”

It means:

“I recognize that your journey matters because my journey exists in the same forest.”

The Compassion spell creates a hidden effect:

When one creature is cared for, the entire path changes.

A little less fear.
A little more trust.
A little more room for everyone to breathe.

The forest becomes different because someone chose kindness.

That is the magic.

Not controlling others.

Not demanding the world become gentle.

Becoming the kind of creature that leaves gentleness behind.

Every traveler leaves messages on the road.

Some leave warnings.

Some leave maps.

Some leave a small glowing mark in the darkness:

“Someone cared here.”

May you find those signs.

May you cast the Compassion spell when you can.

And may you remember:

The greatest strength of the elephant was never its size.

It was its heart.
