Just give him some time.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You soften messages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Carry information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prevent collisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Absorb frustration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By the end of the evening, everyone else has gone to bed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You remain awake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apparently peace has been achieved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The battlefield was simply relocated into your nervous system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meet <strong>The Peacekeeper.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Field Identification<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Peacekeeper appears when a traveler begins treating other people&#8217;s conflict as a personal responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>I would like to help.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>I must make this okay.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If someone is angry:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fix it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If two people disagree:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mediate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the room becomes tense:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Change the subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If someone says something difficult:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Soften it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If truth might create Valuable<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De-escalation is a skill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mediation is a skill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Diplomacy is a skill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Knowing how to lower the temperature of a room can prevent enormous harm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Peacekeeper is not dangerous because peace is bad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is dangerous because <strong>peace becomes mandatory regardless of its price.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is a difference between:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Creating conditions where conflict can be handled safely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Making conflict disappear so nobody becomes uncomfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Encounter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two siblings argued constantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their mother hated conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whenever voices rose, she called the oldest daughter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p yourself.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her mother stared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cWhy are you being difficult?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Interesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The daughter had stopped performing a job nobody remembered assigning absorbs that too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The system appears calmer because one nervous system is processing everyone&#8217;s impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This can look like emotional strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It can also be exhaustion wearing diplomatic clothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Childhood Peacekeeper<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A child hears adults fighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They become funny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Helpful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Quiet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They distract a younger sibling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clean something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bring someone a drink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Say the right thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The room settles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Powerful lesson:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>My behavior can control changed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Door closed harder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Someone is quieter than usual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dinner feels wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They notice atmospheric shifts before anyone says anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is real skill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the skill may have been trained in terrain where noticing early mattered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eventually ordinary tension can feel like danger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Raised voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Long silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sharp movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Changed expression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The nervous system activates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So stopping the conflict does more than help other people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It regulates the Peacekeeper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cI just want everyone to get along\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">also means:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cMy body cannot settle while anyone around me is upset.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">False Peace<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The room is quiet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is it peaceful?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maybe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Or perhaps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nobody can disagree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One person dominates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Everyone avoids a topic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Resentment has gone underground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Someone is afraid to speak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Silence is not automatically peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A graveyard is extremely quiet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That does not make it a healthy community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Dinner Table Peace<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Someone makes an insulting remark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another person reacts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Peacekeeper says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cCan we not do this tonight?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Notice what happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The conflict became the problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not necessarily the behavior that caused it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes this is tactically appropriate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wrong time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wrong place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But if every time is the wrong time, peace becomes protection for whoever benefits from silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Peacekeeper and The Mask<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Peacekeepers often develop agreeable Masks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Easygoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Helpful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fine with anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No preference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because preferences can collide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Needs can inconvenience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Boundaries can disappoint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So the safest person to become is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The person who doesn&#8217;t create friction.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eventually nobody knows what the Peacekeeper actually wants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes the Peacekeeper doesn&#8217;t either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Peacekeeper and The Apology Tax<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Conflict appears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cSorry.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But you didn&#8217;t cause it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Someone needs to lower the temperature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Peacekeeper pays the Apology Tax on behalf of the entire room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Peacekeeper and The Borrowed Emergency<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Someone is upset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Borrowed Emergency says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Act now.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Peacekeeper says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Make them okay.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Together they can mobilize a traveler remarkably quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The person may abandon:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Boundaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their own emotional state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because somewhere else, two adults are uncomfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Peacekeeper and The Double Bind<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cStay out of our business.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then conflict worsens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cWhy didn&#8217;t you help?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Or:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cDon&#8217;t take sides.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cWhy aren&#8217;t you defending me?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The mediator becomes responsible for an outcome while being denied clear authority to produce it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Excellent Double Bind territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Peacekeeper and The Interpreter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two people stop speaking directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cTell her I said\u2026\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Peacekeeper carries it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then translates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Softens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adds context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eventually three conversations exist:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What A said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What Peacekeeper heard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What Peacekeeper told B.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Communication has become a game of telephone operated by someone terrified of dropped calls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Triangulation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two people have a problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead of speaking to each other, one recruits a third.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A \u2192 C \u2192 B.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The triangle may feel safer than direct communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But C now occupies the middle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If this happens repeatedly, the Peacekeeper can become infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The relationship between A and B no longer functions without them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Countermeasure: Return the Message<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mediator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Counselor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Teacher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Parent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Negotiator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Community leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes maintaining functional peace genuinely belongs to your job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then use the skill deliberately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But even professional peacekeepers need boundaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A mediator facilitates resolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They do not become the permanent emotional digestive system of everyone involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Difference Between Peace and Appeasement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Peace says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>We can remain in relationship while addressing what is true.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Appeasement says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Whatever prevents escalation right now.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes appeasement is tactically necessary for safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But as a permanent strategy, it gives the most volatile person enormous power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whoever reacts most strongly begins setting the rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Everyone else learns to organize around preventing their reaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is not peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is governance by volatility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Most Upset Person Is Not Automatically the Most Right<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Peacekeepers sometimes find their own anger frightening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They know what anger does to rooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So theirs gets buried quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s okay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don&#8217;t worry about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But anger may contain information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A boundary crossed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A value violated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An unfair burden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You do not need to unleash it recklessly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You also do not need to erase it for the comfort of everyone nearby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Mage&#8217;s Peace<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Mage does class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speak plainly and allow the room to become uncomfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Refuse to carry the message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Leave two adults with their own disagreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The goal is not a room where nobody is ever upset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The goal is a room where truth, boundaries, difference, and relationship can coexist without requiring someone to disappear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Field Note<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Peace is beautiful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But peace purchased by one person&#8217;s continuous self-erasure is expensive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Look carefully at the calmest rooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ask what keeps them calm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mutual respect?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Communication?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Safety?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Or is there someone constantly watching the weather?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Softening every sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Changing every subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Taking every sharp object into themselves before anyone else gets cut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If that person is you, consider something:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perhaps the room can survive an argument.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perhaps those people can speak for themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perhaps someone can be disappointed in you and remain connected to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perhaps tension can rise and then fall without your intervention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can still know how to make peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is a valuable spell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But a spell is something you choose to cast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not a condition of your belonging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The moment you discover that difference, <strong>The Peacekeeper<\/strong> stops being your
