Something about them catches. Their voice. Their mannerisms. The way they looked at you that one time. A strange familiarity you cannot quite explain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then they leave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And the entity remains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It begins replaying the encounter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each replay adds something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A facial expression becomes warmer.<br>A pause becomes meaningful.<br>A possibility becomes increasingly probable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Soon you are no longer remembering what happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You are remembering the <strong>story the entity has built around what happened<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is why Limerence can be so convincing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It rarely invents things from nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It takes real things and gives them gravitational pull.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A person said something kind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The entity whispers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>They understand you.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Someone smiled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>They noticed you.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Someone disappeared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>They&#8217;re afraid of what they feel.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And because none of these things can be completely disproven, the entity can survive indefinitely in the dark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Field Note<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The most dangerous thing about Limerence is not that it makes you care about someone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Caring is human.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The danger is when the person gradually becomes less important than the <strong>meaning you&#8217;ve assigned to them<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At that point, you aren&#8217;t necessarily pursuing a relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You are pursuing resolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You want the story to become true because then all the strange feelings finally make sense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And Limerence is very happy to keep you waiting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rogue Entity Warning<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you find yourself spending more time imagining a person&#8217;s feelings than actually experiencing their presence&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Check the perimeter.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If every ambiguous action has become evidence&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Check the perimeter.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the relationship exists primarily in your head, while reality remains frustratingly sparse&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You may have a Rogue mean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not what would make the story beautiful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not what would make everything finally click.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What actually happened?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes the answer is enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes the answer is painful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And sometimes, wonderfully, the answer is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Something real did happen.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But reality has a peculiar habit of being much more interesting than the fantasy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And if something is truly
